Laos Activities and Itineraries
Laos has got to be the most chilled out section of our trip so far, but there is still plenty of adventure to be had. Here you’ll find some amazing Laos activities and itineraries, all tried and tested by us!
There’s something about this country that seems much more laid back than the neighbouring countries of Vietnam and Cambodia. By the time we arrived in Laos, we were grateful for a slower pace. Long-term travel can get tiring and sometimes a battery recharge is needed – Laos was the perfect place for this.
We spent three weeks in this wonderful country, travelling from Vientiane up to Luang Prabang, before leaving for the Thai islands.
Wi-Fi is available in all major towns in Laos. Most hostels and restaurants will advertise when they have it. We didn’t bother to buy a SIM card for that reason.
Public transport isn’t really a thing in Laos. You’ll find tuk tuks are the main way to get around, unless you rent a motorbike. To travel between towns, minivan is the most popular option, but get ready for a rough ride. The roads are in a shocking state in places and the drivers we had acted like they were on a high speed police chase. Apart from that, they get you from A to B and are pretty cheap.
